The Scott McAdams for Senate Campaign launched the third in its series of popular commercials today. The ad, "Sitka Seniors," offers a stark contrast between Scott's position on the issues and those of his opponents. "It's not surprising Joe Miller wants to get rid of Social Security and Medicare," narrates McAdams in the ad. "But it is surprising Lisa voted to risk Social Security in the stock market and cut Medicare."
McAdams' comments regarding Joe Miller are based upon statements that Miller made to CNN about Social Security and to the Daily News Miner about dismantling Medicare. McAdams' comments about Lisa Murkowski are based upon her votes to cut Medicare in 2005 as well as a 2008 vote to privatize Social Security.
"When I am elected to the Senate, I will protect the programs that serve America's seniors," said McAdams. "Social Security is a promise that we made to Alaska's seniors. I intend to keep that promise."
Alaskan seniors have expressed confidence in McAdams' ability to protect Social Security in Washington D.C. "I trust Scott to protect Social Security," said Vic Fisher. "Alaskansespecially older Alaskans can't afford to have a Senator that is willing to gamble with our future." McAdams has been endorsed by the Association of Retired Americans.
The commercial was shot in Sitka, Scott's hometown, and includes his wife Romee.
